Manager: Knowledge Production Department
Based: Benin City, Nigeria
Closing date: Remains open until filled
Starting date: As soon as possible
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Design and implement relevant knowledge management systems, research programmes and strategies for innovation and learning;
- Build an effective and motivated team within CPPBI in order to drive the organisation’s knowledge production agenda;
- Build and maintain the profile of CPPBI’s knowledge production and management internally and externally;
- Provide editorial oversight over CPPBI’s publications;
- Manage the financial, administrative and human resource requirements of the CPPBI; and
- Provide support to the overall institutional fund-raising requirements and needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Masters degree in Peace and Conflict Studies or related field (candidates with other related masters degrees and a proven requisite experience will be considered);
- Eight to twelve years of progressively responsible experience in the field of Peace Building, Peace and Security, or International Relations;
- Proven track record of multiple and diverse publications (e.g. book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles);
- Experience working or engaging in policy-relevant research and information gathering and sharing;
- Ability to conceptualise and analyse complex information of current and emerging peace and security issues;
- Ability to identify new knowledge production areas and opportunities, and conceptualise these into project and funding proposals;
- Three to five years experience in two or more of the following institutions: academia, civil society organization/NGO, government, inter-governmental organisation;
- Experience in the conceptualization, management and implementation of research projects;
- Attention to detail, ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines to successfully deliver to a diversity of objectives and demands.
Manager Training Unit
Based: Benin City, Nigeria

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Train in the areas of conflict resolution, specifically Peacemaking, Peacekeeping and Peace Building.
- Design and develop training curriculum as and when required.
- Build an effective and motivated team within the Training Unit in order to drive the organization’s training objectives.
- Build and maintain the profile of CPPBI’s training management internally and externally.
- Provide oversight over projects embedded within the Training Unit.
- Manage the financial, administrative and human resource requirements of the department; and.
- Provide support to the overall institutional fund-raising requirements and needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Masters or equivalent in Peace and Conflict Studies or related field (candidates with proven requisite experience will be considered).
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in the field of conflict management, peace and security, or international relations.
- Over and above English, fluency in French will be an added advantage.
- Experience and understanding of curriculum development.
- Attention to detail, ability to plan and prioritize work and meet deadlines to successfully deliver to a diversity of objectives and demands.
